Still a chance for Favre to be a Viking?

Published by Erick Ward at 10:48 pm under NFL Edit This

Not that I’m proud of it, but I can be a pretty selfish person. It’s something I’d like to improve, and I try to whenever possible. But, in the Brett Favre situation I’m really only rooting for what I think would be the most interesting (and hilarious scenario).

Favre to the Vikings. Sure, him going to the Bears would be great, but it wouldn’t solve the rest of the team’s problems. Oh, and it’s never gonna happen. But, a trade to the Vikings would probably make the three parties involved (Favre, Vikings and Packers) the happiest.

The Vikings are probably the only team that would be willing to give up a first-round pick (and possibly another pick as well). If Favre went to the Jets, there still not better than the Patriots. Tampa Bay would be interesting, but apparently Favre has already said, “no” to that idea. Which brings the Vikings, who would then become the best team in the NFC. By a lot.

So, now, except for the fact that the Packers would trade Favre (and the division championship) to one of their biggest rivals before the season even started, everyone would get what they’re claiming to want. Favre would become the starter, the Vikings would have a quarterback that’s not a joke, and the Packers would get to play Aaron Rodgers.

Even better, we would all get to watch the city of Green Bay tear itself apart. I haven’t purchased a football jersey in a long time, because I’m not 12 anymore, but I would buy a purple Favre jersey. And, I don’t care what they say, so would a lot of Wisconsin.

There would be a lot of fair-weather Packer fans who trade teams in an instant.
